Governor’s Message
By District Governor C. Ellis Potter, OD.
The Rotary SPIRIT was alive and well at the District Conference on
Sept 13-16 in Eureka Springs. The program is detailed in this
newsletter by editor, Steve Reid. If you have been to the District
Conference you know the spirit we felt with our common belief in
SERVICE ABOVE SELF. If you have not been to a district conference,
make plans now for next years conference, which will invigorate and
challenge you. Attendance totaled about 12-15% of the District
membership and was high by recent standards.
None of the excitement
and energy generated at the conference, none of the new ideas
discovered, none of the rejoicing of previous projects nor any of
the motivating or invigorating exchange of ideas matter, if we do
not carry this SPIRIT back to those that did not attend. Those
present must motivate their members to recruit like minded
individuals; to use the power of the Foundation to inspire new
contributions, to challenge the minds and imagination of Rotary
members to develop new programs to help and SERVE. We must ratchet
up our activities to do GREATER SERVICE. DO IT-TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
