Feb 6-8, 2009   SCRYE Conference (Tulsa) -- SCRYE would like to extend an invitation to anyone interested in Rotary Youth Exchange and enhancing their district program. Participants include Rotarians, spouses and of course RYE students. There will be specialized training sessions for experienced RYE officers, those new to RYE and our DG's/DGE's/DGN's. Fellowship opportunities will extend to an optional lunch on Saturday and our Saturday evening banquet.

Youth Exchange

OUTBOUND (1 year)

  • Starts August
  • Attend high school in host country
  • 1 - 3 host families
  • Local Rotarian helps/advises student

OUTBOUND (short-term)

  • 1 month exchange (summer)
  • 1 host family
  • Ages 15 to 25 years old

 INBOUND (1 year)

  •  Starts August
  •  Attend high school in host community
  •  3 host families
  •  Local Rotarian helps / advises student

INBOUND (short-term)

  •  1 month exchange (summer)
  •  1 host family
  •  Family sending a student overseas also hosts a student

  •  Ages 15 - 18.5 (long-term exchange)
  •  Ages 15- 25 (short-term exchange)
  •  Sons & Daughters of Rotarians and Non-Rotarians
  • Generally in Top 1/3 of class
  •  Demonstrates Leadership Skills
  •  Must be good Ambassador

  STUDENT

  •  CLEP out of 8 - 18 hours of foreign language studies
  •  Career Advantage over equally skilled applicants
  •  Self-Confidence, Maturity
  •  Lifetime overseas contacts
  •  Comfortable & Tolerant with people from other cultures

 68 countries participate including:

  • Hungary, Japan, Russia, India, Thailand, Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador, Argentina, France, Germany, Columbia, Luxembourg, Austria, Slovak Republic, Poland, and Switzerland....

District 6110's Rotary Youth Exchange program is part of the South Central Rotary Youth Exchange multi-district Rotary organization which includes clubs from 35 Rotary Districts across  15 states, including the states of Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. Participating Rotary Clubs in District 6110 are located in eastern Oklahoma, southeastern Kansas, southwestern Missouri and western Arkansas.
