Note from Lucy's mom...
[Lucy] moved to her 2nd host family today, and called to say her
suitcases had obviously shrunk in the wet Belgium weather, since
nothing fit.

Note from Lucy's mom...
[Lucy] is doing well, and really likes her current exchange
family. She has met her other two families several times, and
likes them too. She only gets on the internet about once a
week.
She says she is passing English and gym, but is doing well socially
and has made many friends.
One day she answered the front door, and two strange teenage
girls were standing there. "Are you the American?"
they asked. "We were exchange students in the United
States last year, and we want to take you to a cafe and practice our
English."
She is also looking forward to January, when most of the Australian
exchanges trade. She wants to be an oldie and show the newbies
the ropes.

Note from Lucy's mom...
[Lucy]'s been there a week, and so far so good. Cooked tuna
casserole for
her family, school starts today, and she is planning to take the
train to a
neighboring town for an a get-together with other exchange students.
(Evidently, they meet weekly for coffee and gossip). She says she
managed to insult her host family the first night there, when they
had steak for dinner, and she asked about mad cow disease.

I'm going to start packing today. Not very
nervous yet- I'm trying not to
think about it. My mom and I spent the last two days in Norman
and OKC
taking some last minute slides of the capital and OU and saying some
last
goodbyes to my brothers. It just occured to me that everyone
else has left now. I've been reading Jenna's travelouge, and
I'm looking forward to
having something to write about in mine.
