1/16/2008 9:50 PM I went to the ski trip at colorado on december and it was a lot of fun. I have had been skiing before but this time a tried snowboarding fot the first time. It was really cool and I think it is funner than skiing. It was a long way up there to Colorado but it went fast since we had a lot to talk about to the other exchange students. It was really nice and we stayed in a good place where we could walk to the slopes.

Over the break, I stayed a few days here in McAlester and I had a nice christmas. I thought it would be bad to spend christmas far from my family, but it wasn't bad at all. It was fun!
After christmas, my second family and I went to new mexico where we stayed for about 5 days skiing. It was really fun and I got a lot better on the snowboard.

Whenever I got back to McAlester I switched to the family I went skiing with and I also started playing baseball. Like football was, baseball is also new and I had never played before. I am doing pretty good though and I think we have a good team for this year.

I am playing Football for the Mcalester buffaloes as the kicker and we are now in the 2nd round of the playoffs! We are going to play Lawton Mac this friday and hopefully go to the semi-finals!

I plan to move to baiseball as soon as the football season ends.

We have a great structure in sports here which makes my school here more interesting than in Brazil!

Part of Bernardo's Speech ...

My name is Bernardo, and I am an exchange student from Brazil.

Down there in Brazil I live in a house with both of my parents and all my 3 siblings. My mom's name is Marcia and she is 45. My dad, Christiano is 52. I am the youngest of my 2 brothers, Gulherme and Henrique, and my sister Patricia who is now 24 and it is almost graduating at college.

My mom has 4 siblings and my dad 9, so it's a big family and what a like most is that we are always meeting each other.

Well, about me, I am 17 and my birthday is on May, 14th. I am a very active person and I love to play sports. I used to play soccer and tennis down there in Brazil, and here I am in the football team and I also want to play baseball next season. I can easily say that the football is my life here and it pretty much helped me in everything, such as making friends, keeping me busy and in shape.

When I graduate, I want to go to the medical university of my town and hopefully become a good doctor. And in my opinion I am already in my way since this year is definatelly helping me become more mature and to put my mind in order. It is also important that I am learning more how to deal with people and I think that is an essential quality of a good doctor: be successful dealing with every kind of people. Finally I am also improving my english and that is important in pretty much every kind of job in my country. And why not say that I am getting better in public speaking in occasions like this one right now.
