Directions for Using Online
Auction
NOTE: When you register, the system immediately sends out the
password. If you have not received the password after a few minutes,
it is possible that your computer's spam-blocker or your ISP's spam
blocker has mistaken it as spam. Let the Spam blocker know that
email from this address is not spam. You may need to re-register to
get a password.
To See The Items Available
1)
Go to “Auction Categories”
2)
Click on “Items for 2008 Auction”
3)
This will open a page that shows you the item
name and the current bid on the item.
4)
To read more about any item, click on its item
name.
5)
This will open a page where you can read a more
detailed description of the item. At this page you may also place a
bid.
To Place A Bid
1)
To place an online bid, you must first register
as a bidder. (There is a tab that says “Register.” Click on that and
follow the directions. You will automatically be emailed a password. )
2)
Once you are registered, follow the above
directions to view a particular item.
3)
On the item description/bid page, you will see
a tab that says “Auction Detail.” Here you can see what the start bid
was, what the current bid is, etc. Beneath that is the Detailed
description of the item.
4)
Under the “Bidding,” section, you can see
information about what the lowest amount is that you may bid on this
item.
5)
If you wish to place a bid, enter your username
and password.
6)
Type your bid amount in the box for bids
7)
Click on “Place Bids.”
8)
A page opens that tells you your bid was
successfully placed. It shows the amount of your bid and the item that
you bid on.
9)
If you go back to the item page, you see your
bid listed with your username in the bid history for that item.
10)
You will also receive a bid notification via
email.
11)
If someone outbids you, you will receive an
outbid notification via email.
To Register
1)
There is a blue menu bar under the Auction
Titles. Click on the tab that says “Register.”
2)
A page opens a form for you to fill in
username, email address, mailing address info. It is very important to
fill in a valid email address since the system emails you a password.
3)
The items with red asterisk *** must be filled
in.
4)
After you fill in the data, click the “submit”
button.
5)
A page opens to notify you that you have been
successfully registered and that your password will be emailed to you.
6)
The emailed passwords are numbers, but you can
change your password to something easier to remember.
To Change Your Password
1)
There is a blue menu bar under the Auction
Titles. Click on the tab that says “Change Password.”
2)
This opens up a form. You have to fill in your
username, the old password, and the new password that you would like
to use. Be sure to write this password down some place where you can
find it later.
3)
After you fill in the data, click the “submit”
button.
4)
A page opens to let you know that you have
successfully changed your password.
5)
NOTE: The system does NOT email you a message
that your password has changed
