Wednesday, June 06, 2001 4:53 PM I have two weeks left until my flight back to
Arkansas. I donīt want to leave yet. It has been so
much fun. I want to see my family and friends, but I
have so much more to do here. I want to perfect my
spanish and have more classes in spanish. I will miss
my host parents and brothers. My host mom and little
brother are coming with me to the U.S. It will be fun
showing them my state just like they did with their
country. I wish I had more time. A year, which seamed
so long, now seams so short. Well I am trying to spend
as much time with my family and friends here. So
good-bye, and I will see you all in two weeks!   Angie

I can´t believe I have lest than two months in Costa Rica. I have my plane ticket set for the end of June. I just don´t want to get on the plane just yet. Maybe another year, or if my family moved down here. I have had tests for three weeks now and am ready for a break. My trip to Panama was really great, the one thing I didn´t like is almost everyone spoke english. I also didn´t like using dollars again. In Costa Rica I hardly ever use any kind of change. I saw the Panama Canal, finally. Soon I am going to the beach to spend some time with my family.(host family) These nine months have passed by so fast. It seems I just stepped of the plane, but soon I will be stepping back on the plane. Angie

I have decided that I deffinately like snow, but this weather here is beautiful. I just got back from a week-end at the beach and I look like a boiled shrimp! I picked up some beautiful seashells and played in the waves. Now that I am back I have to study for two weeks of tests in school. My first test is tommorrow! Then right after my tests I am taking a week trip to Panama for an international Rotary meeting. I hope I will see someone from the states. We will be a part of the meeting, and see some sites. The week after Panama I will spend another week close to my town building and repairing houses. I guess the month of March is filled up and I will be pretty busy. It´s is all so much fun that I don´t mind. I hardly have time to write or send e-mails now! Bie, Angie

Not much is going on here. Pura Vida. My family trip was fun, I spent a lot of time in the pool, and went snorkeling in the ocean. The beaches are really nice. As a matter of fact, I am about to go back for a Rotary meeting. Our Panama trip is soon. I can´t wait. I have to get back into getting up early for school. I am in a private school this time. It is a lot different that the public school I went to! I love learning things I spanish, except for spanish grammar. It is a little harder than my other subjects. I miss my best friend that moved, but I still get to see her sometimes.Well gotta go, Pura Vida y hausta pronto. Angie

Christmas and New Years were a little different in Costa Rica! I stayed up all night on Christmas so we could open presents at 12:00 after my family prayed! One of the best spots here to spend New Years is the beaches. I spent a weekend right on the beach with family and friends. I can´t believe I have been here more than four months. I have to change families soon. I will be living near the beaches on the west coast! I know it will be a new adventure, but it is hard to leave all my new friends and family! I have a big trip next month to the volcanoes and rain forest. I can´t wait! Que dios a compaña. Angie
Wednesday, September 27, 2000 5:43 PM I am e-mailing you from the second most beautiful country, Costa Rica! I have been here a full month today.
The culture is a lot different than the U.S. I eat beans and rice at almost every meal and McDonalds is not just around the corner here. I go to a public school and we wear uniforms, which are blue slacks and a baby blue shirt.
My family treats me so nice. It is just like having another family! I have brothers who take me out to the discotecs. I am even taking a dance class on Wednesdays! I am learning Samba, Salsa, and Reggae.
My Rotary club here is great. They have many fun and interesting trips planned for us. We are going to help protect the sea turtles, walk to volcanoes, and visit the beautiful beaches. I will be helping out at a local orphange soon, also.
There are so many oppertunities here that my first month has flown by to fast! Well my time is up, I hope you can put all of this in my space and I will try to update it more often. Thank you,
