Some Information About The Float Trip 2002

Where:  Buffalo Point Park  --   Meeting Place is PAVILLION # 2

Heading  East on Highway 62/412 from Harrison, Go to Hwy 14 at Yellville. It is 16 miles south of Yellville, AR.Off 14 turn left on highway 268 at Wild Bill's Outfitters; road to Buffalo Point. Go about 3 miles & follow signs down into the campground. If you get disorientated, you can ask for directions at the Ranger Station at Buffalo Point.We will be meeting in Pavilion #2 for the rebound training & will also have dinner there Saturday evening.

SUNDAY MORNING is MANDATORY for YE Inbound Students

Who:  Inbound students, Local Rotarians, Host families of Inbounds,  Outbound Students, and Families of outbounds & Short-Term Students & New Gen Students, and Rotex are also invited to attend this weekend. Advance notice of your attendance is required. How much? 

$15 for YE Students ;$ 25 for others

Families/Rotarians will pay their own campsite fee, canoe rental, & bring own food &  gear.
Description:

This event is the annual Float Trip & Rebound Orientation.

FRIDAY-- Arrive & camp overnight
SATURDAY---Floating along the Buffalo River -- From Spring Creek to Buffalo Point.
SUNDAY—9am –12 noon-- "Stranger in Your own Land" Return shock orientation meeting will help exchange students prepare for their return to your home countries. THIS ORIENTATION IS MANDATORY FOR ALL INBOUND YE STUDENTS

Details:

Students need to bring a towel, a swimsuit, a bedroll or sleeping bag, some casual clothes, sunscreen, insect repellant, cameras & film, bath items for weekend, light jacket or sweatshirt for evenings, sturdy shoes for hiking, & any other personal gear they desire.

All meals will be provided for student participants. The Rotary Club of Mountain Home is providing Saturday evening meal. The Mid-Marion (Yellville) Rotary Club will provide the Sunday morning breakfast.

We will have tents for all YE students. Rotarians & host brothers & sisters will need to bring their own tents.

Canoes are provided for the students. Families & Guests must pay their own canoe rental fees. Canoe Rental Fee is $27/day per canoe. We plan on camping Friday & Saturday evening & floating from Spring Creek to Buffalo Point on Saturday.  For canoe reservations, contact Roger Bates before 1 May
