RYLA - Camper Resources
If you are an OUTSTANDING student with LEADERSHIP characteristics and you feel you are QUALIFIED - please read on.
The 19th annual RYLA camp will be held at the Salvation Army’s “Heart O’ the Hills” facility located outside Tahlequah, Oklahoma. RYLA is specifically designed for class leaders in their junior (11th grade) year of high school. If your club is hosting a student from a foreign country as long as the individual is attending high school (10-12th grades), he or she may attend the RYLA camp with the permission and participation of the sponsoring club.
What will RYLA be like?
RYLA will challenge you, expand your capabilities, and help you realize a greater potential within yourself. Once you arrive you will be assigned to a Tribe. Every Tribe will have a Chief and a Treat (assistant to the Chief). Your Tribe will be challenged with identity, teamwork, and diversity. You will work as a team and establish leadership skills that will be applicable to anything you face ahead in life. Our goal is to instill in you that with help and great determination you are able to accomplish anything you set your mind to do.
Click here to download a Windows Media Video of the 2008 RYLA Camp - the file is 89MB so it may take a few minutes to download over a broadband connection. The video covers a few highlights of each area of our RYLA program. We offer training through multiple interactive delivery points and we provide you with all the tools you need to succeed. The majority of our staff volunteers to run this program because we care about you, and it's our collective goal for you to enjoy this once in a lifetime experience..
